Who is responsible
Falka is responsible for the processing of personal data on this website. If you have a question about this, email info@falka.nl.
Which data we use, and why
We use what you submit through the contact form: your name, your email address, your message and, if you fill them in, a company name, phone number, type of project and preferred start date. We use this data solely to reply to your message and to start a possible collaboration. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). With your request we also store the page on which your visit to this site began, the website you came from, the type of device and the pages you viewed during that visit. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in knowing which pages lead to a request (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep this data for as long as the request itself.
Cookies and visitor statistics
This website uses no third-party trackers. Only the contact form sets two technical cookies, which secure your session and the form itself and expire after two hours. We do count how often each page is viewed. To do this, your browser reports each page you open, without using a cookie. We do not store your IP address or browser. They are turned into a code that changes every day, so within one day we can see that two pages were viewed by the same visitor, but after that day a visit can no longer be traced back to you or matched to another visit, unless you sent the contact form during that visit. From your browser we keep only the type of device (phone, tablet or computer), and from a link you followed to reach this site, only the name of the website it was on. Our hosting provider also keeps standard technical logs for security and troubleshooting. The legal basis for the page count and those logs is our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used and keeping it secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
How long we keep your message
We keep messages as long as needed to handle them, and at most twelve months after the last contact. If a collaboration follows, the retention periods that come with it apply.
Who we share data with
Resend delivers the messages from the form by email to our mailbox at Google. Resend sends from Ireland and stores data about each delivery in the United States. Email you send to info@falka.nl passes through Cloudflare to the same mailbox. Your message also goes into our client records, which run on a Hetzner server in Helsinki. For a first draft of our reply we use Claude, an AI service from Anthropic in the United States, so the details from the form go to Anthropic. We read every reply and send it ourselves.
Your rights
You can view, correct or delete your data. Email info@falka.nl to do so. Complaints can be filed with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
